Here in the "Deep Freeze"

Well, it had to happen sooner or later this winter. And we suppose now's as good a time as any for it to occur.  Yes, the first wind chill advisory of the season is creeping in tonight and will roll on into tomorrow. We just checked, and the temperature as we write this is 3° (feels like -17°). No late night strolls out the lane tonight, under the big, bright moon that's hanging up there. And all of the folks who are planning trips to warm weather sites are frantically trying to turn the clocks and calendars ahead so they can get the heck out of here ASAP. We wish them well...

Busy here with writing projects and getting going on our next novel. Our first novel, Black Wolf Lodge, has sold more copies than we'd hoped for (good news!) and we're planning on bringing back the two main characters in the next book. Hope it all works out, because the setting and plot of the next one is a pretty good one and we're looking forward to developing it over the next few months. Stay tuned for progress reports and other updates on our "Work in Progress" (WIP).

These are the good days--and nights--to stay inside and do research and write the drafts of the chapters. Even Casey, our little black dog, doesn't like staying outside too long in weather such as this. But there's one thing we have come to know: We're one day closer to summer when we can lose ourselves in those glorious days at the cottage and on the pontoon on the water! Our wardrobes will be shorts and t-shirts; no socks, either! Evenings are spent on the screened-in porch, listening to the White Sox game and enjoying a cold, refreshing drink! There's not a better thought to close this post on this frigid night in northern Illinois. What -17° wind chill?
