Life's Soundtracks...

The type of music I listen to most depends on the occasion and the purpose for having music on in the first place. For example, when I'm at work on a writing project, I have soft, background music--usually sounds of nature and gentle guitars providing a nice soundtrack to my creativity.

Other times, when I'm sitting on the screened-in porch at the cottage on a summer's night, I'll have George Strait and various other country artists performing on my iPod Nano. Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Martina McBride aren't too far away, either.

The heart of summer...
On pontoon boat cruises in the golden sunshine, during the heart of summer, I might have a potpourri of music from Big Band era to Bubblegum. I like most genres, with the exception of Rap, Hip-Hop, or whatever other moniker that form goes by. It goes without saying, too, that I'm simply not gaga over Lady Gaga (sp?) Sorry, that parade passed me by long ago, and it isn't about to come back this way anytime soon. I'll leave that and all its various iterations to those who appreciate that sort of cacophony. As the good wife pointed out only last night, I'm getting old. Damned right! :)

  1. Given the name of my blog it is an easy assumption who my favorite musical artist is but lately I find myself listening to Sinatra and others like him.

Toby Keith is a winner as well and Martina McBride is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen on stage.

    2. Hey, Bum:
Thanks for the kind words. I was careless to omit Jimmy Buffett as part of my "soundtrack." He will most definitely be keeping me company over the miles on the drive from Illinois to southern Florida starting tomorrow.
